Major responsibilities include:
Performing in vivo and in vitro experiments as directed by supervisor and senior lab staff
Training to assist with transgenic engineering of mice
Assisting with maintenance and management of a complex mouse colony
Collecting, entering, summarizing and analyzing data
General Responsibilities
Working with a high degree of independence:
- To oversee projects within the laboratory
- To assume responsibility for the day-to-day operation of lab activities.
- To collect, enter, summarize, analyze, and interpret data.
- To contribute significantly to the planning/design of studies.
- To help develop long or short-term goals.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversees projects within the laboratory and assumes responsibility for the day to day operation of lab activities.
- Contributes significantly to the planning/design of studies.
- Collects, enters, summarizes, analyzes and interprets data.
- Monitors results, detects and reports unusual outcomes, develops modifications and provides data to management.
- Participates and helps develop long or short term goals or strategic business objectives.
- With direction, contributes to grant proposals and assists in the preparation and editing of grant applications.
- Supervises lab equipment and supplies.
- Uses advanced knowledge of lab practices to direct and teach others.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Salary Range $47,486.40 – $85,000.00 Annually
Eligbility Criteria
- Doctorate in a related field
- OR Master’s degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience
- OR Bachelor’s degree in related field and four (4) years of related experience
- OR Associate’s degree in related field and six (6) years of related experience
- Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Preferences
- Experience with basic immunological techniques: tissue dissociation and cell isolation, multicolor flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry
- Experience with basic molecular biology techniques: DNA and RNA isolation, PCR and RT-PCR
- Proficiency with mouse handling, dosing, and tissue harvesting
- Experience maintaining genetically modified mouse strains
