VHIR Research Technician Job Description

The VHIR Research Technician will be responsible for performing NGS analysis from Fastq to VCF files on gene panels, WES, and WGS. The role includes managing internal databases, data interpretation, and conducting advanced genetic analysis from raw data, contributing to significant research in pediatric immunology.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biosciences (Biology, Biomedicine, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Human Biology, Genetics, etc.)
  • Master’s Degree related to Bioinformatics, Genetics, Omics, or similar
  • Fluency in Catalan, Spanish, and English

Required Skills

  • Experience working with management and analysis of NGS data (bash, R, MySQL, etc)
  • Knowledge of interpretation of NGS data
  • Knowledge in biostatistics
  • Previous experience in the field of genetic studies in a clinical setting (desirable)

VHIR Research Technician – Key Responsibilities

  • Perform NGS analysis from Fastq to VCF file on gene panels, WES, short and long read WGS
  • Manage internal databases (raw data and metadata)
  • Perform data interpretation following standardized criteria
  • Perform advanced genetic analysis from raw data (CNV variant calling, somatic variant calling, etc)
