Key Responsibilities:

Lead product development projects from concept to commercialization

Execute innovation, renovation, and maintenance for Dot’s and filled pretzel platforms

Prototyping at benchtop, pilot, and manufacturing scale

Evaluate novel ingredients and technologies via vendor engagement and trade shows

Conduct research on pretzel formulation and baking process optimization
-
Analyze experimental data and solve formulation/process challenges
-
Document materials, trials, and processes in line with Hershey SOPs
-
Provide mentorship to junior scientists and technical guidance to manufacturing teams
-
Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, Quality, Marketing, and other departments
-
Travel 25–30% domestically to support production and co-manufacturing initiatives
Qualifications:
Education:
-
BS in Food Science, or Food Engineering, with 6–8 years of experience

OR MS/PhD in related fields with 2–4 years’ experience
-
Prior research, internships, or salty snacks experience preferred
Skills & Experience:
-
In-depth understanding of bakery science, especially in pretzels/crackers

Project leadership and cross-functional collaboration

Experience in analytical techniques, sensory testing, and scale-up methods

Strong data analysis, time management, and communication skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP preferred

Willingness to work flexible hours and travel
