R&D Intern Opportunity Details

- Pay Range: $20 – $22 per hour.
Internship Summary:
McCormick & Company is seeking a full-time R&D Intern at its Geneva, IL facility (1900 Averill Rd) for Summer 2026. This is a 10-week program (June 1 to August 7) with a 40-hour per week schedule (Monday to Friday).
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Product Developers & Technicians with lab tasks/duties.
- Developing basic benchtop application formulas.
- Setting up and screening flavors for evaluation.
- Responsible for the preparation/set-up of raw materials, finished products, and retention samples.
- Manage lab inventory of raw materials, snack base, & supplies needed to support daily tasks.
- Precise lab record/data keeping.
- Maintain sanitation and lab organization.
- Effectively communicate with related departments on projects and products as required.
Qualifications:
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate college Junior or Senior in Food Science, or other related field.
- Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to investigate complex issues and conduct root cause analysis to resolve problems.
- Must be able to prioritize and balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly motivated, self-starter who is a forward-thinking problem solver with a strong work ethic.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills that are clear and concise.
