Educational Requirements for the Microbiologist Role:
- Bachelorโs or Masterโs degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related Life Science discipline.
- Working knowledge of cGMP/GLP standards preferred.
Key Responsibilities of the Microbiologist Role:
- Conduct GMP testing for raw materials, in-process, and finished products.
- Perform sterility and endotoxin testing for release, stability, and validation.
- Maintain sterility and endotoxin testing areas in a state of cGMP compliance.
- Conduct growth promotion testing for microbial culture media qualification.
- Perform microbial identification for product and environmental testing.
- Record and maintain GMP data accurately.
- Author and execute method validation/suitability protocols and summary reports.
- Handle deviation reports and microbiological assessment reports.
- Coordinate sample receipt and processing for microbiology testing.
- Participate in internal and external audits with agencies and contract manufacturers.
- Support equipment maintenance, calibration, and validation.
- Perform assay failure and complaint investigations.
Skills Required for the Microbiologist Role:
- Experience in pharmaceutical microbiology and microbiological testing (sterility, endotoxin, bioburden, etc.).
- Proficiency in method validation and environmental monitoring techniques.
- Strong knowledge of cGMP and GLP standards.
- Good computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, and documentation systems).
- Excellent communication skills โ verbal and written.
