Job Description
This is a full-time Microbiology Associate Scientist I position located in Lebanon, NJ, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
SUMMARY
Responsible for providing or overseeing the analysis, administration, and oversight of standard microbiology/biology policies, programs, and practices. Involves feedback and guidance regarding the analysis of samples using fundamental professional and technical knowledge of microbiology/biology or related instrumentation, testing, and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provides fundamental analysis in support of standard testing materials, products, and/or devices utilizing standard analytical instrumentation.
- Overseeing or reviewing, completing, and processing various types of standard microbiology/biology forms, documents, databases, and related materials and information.
- Analyzes and reviews process, results, feedback, and related microbiology/biology information to determine trends and present recommendations to management.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Required knowledge includes fundamental principles, practices, and techniques of microbiology/biology, aseptic techniques, and applicable laws, codes, and regulations. Required skills include performing professional-level microbiology/biology duties, overseeing microbiology/biology functions, and preparing written materials.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands include mobility to work in a lab and office setting, vision to read printed materials and computer screens, and hearing and speech to communicate effectively.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a lab and office setting and is subject to chemicals, fumes, gases, and related items in a lab environment.
