Minimum Education Requirement:
BS/BA (biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, chemical engineering, bioengineering or scientifically related). Masterโs degree preferred.
Experience:
Required (1+ year):
- Molecular biology, biochemistry, and/or bioengineering.
- Managing bacterial cell cultures through subculturing, clone screening, and cell banking.
- With safe laboratory practices and procedures.
- Working in a cross-functional environment with Scientists.
- Generating and maintaining experimental data in a highly organized manner.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with cell culture medium and reagent preparation, transfections, antibody/protein/RNA/DNA analysis, and bioreactor set-up and operation.
- Performing process development activities such as culture condition optimization and process scale-up in bench-top bioreactors.
- Performing SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, and/or ELISA.

Environmental Working Conditions & Physical Effort:
The work environment is a laboratory/office setting, and the appropriate PPE will be required in designated areas. The Associate Scientist may occasionally travel to other Avantor locations or customer sites.
