Job Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cytogenetic procedures: tissue culture, harvesting, slide prep, banding, automated karyotyping, reagent preparation
  • Conduct FISH processing, probing, and scoping
  • Determine specimen acceptability per established criteria
  • Perform routine and complex procedures per SOPs
  • Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation
  • Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
  • Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls
  • Report timely and accurate test results
  • Perform and document quality control and preventive maintenance
  • Replenish supplies and assist with specimen processing
  • Maintain a safe working environment and use required PPE

Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or equivalent (per CLIA/State regulations)
  • No prior clinical lab experience required
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Computer proficiency; LIS familiarity a plus
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to pass a color vision screening
  • Flexibility to work overtime or alternate shifts as needed
