Biologist Jobs At BioCryst- Role:
The Biologist I will play an integral role in supporting BioCryst’s Research Biology team through laboratory maintenance, assay development, and data analysis. This position involves conducting molecular and cell biology experiments, optimizing assays, and supporting drug discovery projects aimed at developing novel therapeutics. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, scientifically driven, and eager to contribute to fast-paced, innovative research efforts within the protein science and molecular biology teams.
Life Science Jobs- Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct biological assays including enzymatic and cell-based assays, ELISA, and biomarker assessments.
- Support protein science activities such as protein expression, purification, and inventory management.
- Assist with molecular biology techniques including cloning, SDS-PAGE, and Western blotting.
- Prepare technical reports, protocols, and maintain accurate experimental documentation.
- Participate in method development, compound testing, and pharmacodynamic (PD) biomarker studies.
- Analyze data, interpret results, and present findings at internal meetings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field with at least 1 year of relevant lab experience.
- Proficiency in molecular and cell biology techniques, including ELISA, protein assays, and cell culture.
- Experience with protein expression, purification, and characterization.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, matrixed research environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
