Job Overview
In this position, youโll support critical operations in the manufacture of commercial and clinical biologics, adhering strictly to Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs). You will be responsible for executing batch records, ensuring compliance, and maintaining a safe and efficient production environment as part of Actalentโs growing biopharmaceutical division.
Biopharmaceutical Processing Technician Job – Key Responsibilities
- Execute manufacturing batch records, SOPs, and work instructions with a โright-first-timeโ mindset.
- Assist with batch record reconciliation, equipment maintenance, and data documentation per cGMP requirements.
- Participate in production meetings, shift handovers, and lean improvement initiatives.
- Support quality investigations by providing detailed technical feedback.
- Follow and enforce safety procedures and aseptic techniques in all production areas.
- Manufacture buffers and reagents as per standard protocols.
- Prepare controls and calibrators, ensuring documentation accuracy and traceability.
- Perform in-process assays using instruments such as spectrophotometers, pH meters, and clinical analyzers.
- Handle chemical weighing, mixing, and filtration processes as needed.
- Clean, sterilize, and prepare glassware, tanks, and equipment (CIP/SIP).
- Maintain laboratory inventory and respond promptly to operational needs.
- Work flexible schedules, including weekends and rotating 12-hour shifts.
Biopharmaceutical Processing Technician Job – Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelorโs Degree in Science (Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related discipline).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in manufacturing, production, or laboratory environments.
- Strong command of aseptic technique, cell culturing, chromatography, and biochemistry.
- In-depth knowledge of cGMP practices and chemical safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a GMP-regulated biopharmaceutical environment (minimum 6 months preferred).
- Expertise in upstream processing or biologics manufacturing.
- Strong analytical and documentation review skills.
Work Environment
- Work within cleanroom and aseptic suites, requiring full gowning (bodysuit, gloves, and PPE).
- Rotating 12-hour shifts (7 days on within a 2-week cycle).
- Ability to lift to 25 lbs independently and stand for approximately 80% of the shift.
