Genentech is hiring a Bioprocess Manufacturing Technician (Contractor) in Oceanside, California, to support our highly automated, cGMP-compliant biologics manufacturing facility. What You’ll Do:
- Operate automated production systems following strict SOPs and product-specific recipes.
- Work across core manufacturing areas: Production Services, Upstream, or Downstream Manufacturing.
- Prepare and sterilize production equipment, operate bioreactors, perform purification processes, and conduct environmental monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Quick learner with mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Proficient in using automated systems and basic scripting (a plus).
- Comfortable working in cleanroom environments (gowning required).
- Able to stand for long periods, climb stairs, and lift to 25 lbs.
- Flexible for 10- and 12-hour shifts (day, swing, night)โopen availability is preferred.
Education & Skills Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Preferred: Associate degree or certificate in Biotechnology/Life Sciences/Engineering
- Strong English and computer literacy skills (Microsoft and Google platforms)
Compensation & Shift Benefits:
- Hourly Rate: Starting at $22/hour (based on experience & location)
