As part of the Accellacare team, the PRA plays a vital role in encouraging patients to participate in research by conducting phone screenings and maintaining recruitment databases. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Job Description:
As a Patient Recruitment Associate I at ICON plc, you will be responsible for screening potential study participants, discussing research opportunities, reviewing medical eligibility, and maintaining accurate patient records. You will support ICONโs mission to advance clinical research through patient-centric recruitment strategies. This is a hybrid role requiring on-site presence in Knoxville three days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Screen potential participants per protocol inclusion/exclusion criteria.
- Conduct phone screenings and respond to all inquiries within 24 hours.
- Enter and update patient data in trial management systems.
- Coordinate with clinical teams to schedule participant visits.
- Identify eligible participants for multiple research protocols.
- Communicate research objectives effectively to volunteers.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records.
- Meet personal and team recruitment targets.
- Ensure a high-quality patient experience through consistent follow-up.
- Manage workload under tight deadlines and prioritize tasks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Healthcare, or related medical field.
- Background in customer service, marketing, or sales preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure.
- Must be able to work on-site in Knoxville, TN, 3 days per week.
- Interest in clinical research and recruitment processes.
