Job Overview
As a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, you will play a key role in Labcorp’s mission of “Improving Health and Improving Lives.” You’ll be responsible for performing a variety of technical lab tests to support accurate diagnosis and patient care within a fast-paced and collaborative hospital setting at Ascension.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate specimen acceptability according to lab standards
- Perform both routine and complex testing procedures
- Troubleshoot instruments and make sound technical decisions
- Prepare, test, and validate new reagents and controls
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of results
- Maintain QC documentation and perform preventive maintenance
- Identify supply needs and assist with sample processing
- Adhere to safety standards and use PPE appropriately
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Biological Sciences, Clinical Lab Science, Medical Technology, or related field (meeting CLIA & State guidelines)
- Experience: At least 1 year of clinical lab testing OR MLS degree
- Certification: ASCP or AMT preferred
- Skills:
- Proficient in lab systems and data handling
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Able to work independently and in a team
- Pass the standardized color vision screening
Shift: 3rd shift — Monday to Thursday, 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM (no weekends)
Flexibility: Willingness to work extra shifts/overtime as needed
