Job Description
The Clinical Lab Operator I assists in analyzing patient specimens and ensures lab equipment is functioning optimally. The role includes testing, maintaining clean workspaces, adhering to GLP standards, and engaging in continuous improvement projects. This position requires teamwork, precision, and compliance with HIPAA and company training requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in testing patient samples per SOPs
- Meet performance metrics as applicable
- Maintain understanding of lab methods
- Guide new team members
- Ensure a clean, organized lab space (GLP)
- Complete training and deadlines on time
- Escalate equipment malfunctions and protocol deviations
- Maintain open communication with the team and supervisors
- Support daily team tasks
- Calibrate and monitor lab instruments
- Maintain sufficient lab inventory
- Participate in continuous improvement (TAG, 5S)
- Handle PHI responsibly (electronic/paper)
- Comply with HIPAA and company training policies
- Pass post-offer background checks
- Perform additional assigned duties
Qualifications
- BS/BA in a biological science or related field
- 0–2 years of industry-related experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in word processing and data management
- Ability to collaborate effectively in teams
Compensation
Pay Range: $19.54 – USD 22.00 per hour
Final compensation depends on skills, experience, and location.
