Position Summary

They are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Associate to join our dynamic sample management team. This role is responsible for managing biological samples, ensuring their integrity, overseeing quality control, and supporting research projects reliant on high-quality biospecimens. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in biosample management, research methodologies, and data analysis, with a passion for contributing to cutting-edge scientific research.

Primary Responsibilities

Sample Collection and Processing

  • Oversee the collection, preparation, and processing of biological samples (blood, tissue, saliva, DNA) following established protocols and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and labeling to ensure complete sample traceability from collection through storage.

Sample Storage and Management

  • Maintain proper storage conditions (temperature, humidity, cryopreservation, ambient) for various biological samples.
  • Implement inventory management procedures to track and organize samples using laboratory management software (e.g., FreezerPro, LabArchives).
  • Ensure samples are cataloged appropriately and accessible to researchers in a timely manner.

Database Management and Data Analysis

  • Manage and update the sample database to ensure data accuracy and compliance with tracking requirements.
  • Assist with data analysis and reporting, including sample inventory reports and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with research teams to gather and prepare data for publications, grants, or presentations.

Regulatory Compliance and Quality Control

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (HIPAA, IRB), and biorepository SOPs.
  • Implement quality control measures to maintain sample integrity and meet accreditation standards (CAP, ISO, CLIA).
  • Assist with audit and inspection preparation, ensuring documentation is complete and up-to-date.

Collaboration with Researchers

  • Partner with internal and external research teams to understand sample needs and provide guidance on sample suitability, quality, and availability.
  • Prepare and distribute biological samples for experiments and studies.
  • Provide expertise in biorepository protocols, best practices, and troubleshooting sample-related issues.

Research Support

  • Assist in designing and executing research projects related to biorepository sample management.
  • Contribute data, insights, and support for scientific publications and presentations.

Continuous Improvement and Training

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and develop strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Stay informed about advancements in biorepository management, sample storage technologies, and relevant regulations.
  • Train and mentor junior staff or technicians on sample handling and database management best practices.

Qualifications for Freshers Research Associate Jobs

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or a related field (preferred).

Experience

  • 0–2 years of experience in a laboratory or biorepository setting focused on sample management, biospecimen processing, or quality assurance.
  • Experience with biorepository or data management tools (FreezerPro, LabArchives, LabWare, LIMS, Snowflake-based databases) is highly desirable.

Skills For Freshers Research Associate Jobs

  • Strong understanding of biological sample management, tissue processing, cryopreservation, DNA/RNA extraction, and cell culture.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards (HIPAA, GxP, CLIA, IRB).
