Job Description

Employee Responsibilities:

• Responsible for splitting and homogenizing incoming samples in compliance with all applicable standard operating procedures and quality systems.

• Care and maintenance of equipment associated with this activity.

• Performs any duties required by management or the department that are not explicitly detailed in this job description.

• Prepare incoming test samples by splitting, grinding with appropriate grinders, and homogenizing aseptically for further testing using standard operating procedures and applicable quality control procedures.

• Clean the workplace and equipment by standard operating procedures and general housekeeping requirements.

• Provide feedback to the department manager for suggested improvements to procedures.

• Monitor and meet TAT requirements for sample workflow, and keep the department manager informed when capacity constraints are anticipated that may delay TAT.

• Maintains assigned equipment according to standard operating procedures. Perform all operational qualifications before analysis according to standard operating procedures.

• Logs and delivers sample splits to testing departments, and as needed, gets the appropriate signatures on the proper log.

• Responsible for logging and storing records of the samples, as well as discarding the records properly according to the appropriate standard operating procedure.

• Performing environmental monitoring, as needed.

• Enrich client samples with appropriate media as needed.

• Assist other technicians with the weekly checklist.
