Job Description
The Sequencing Laboratory Technician I works within the laboratory team to ensure accurate, efficient, and high-quality DNA sequencing processes. This individual maintains strong communication with colleagues and adheres to established safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities include:

Collaborating and communicating effectively with team members.

Maintaining consistent quality and efficiency in assigned tasks.

Keeping laboratory equipment and workspaces clean and organized.

Following all relevant documentation, including work instructions, checklists, batch records, and logs.

Maintaining accurate production records in compliance with quality system requirements.
-
Organizing, sorting, and prioritizing incoming DNA samples.
-
Pipetting DNA sequencing reactions.
-
Performing DNA purification, loading samples, and scheduling runs on 3730xl ABI Sequencers.
-
Working under the supervision of a Lab Team Lead.

Operating laboratory instruments such as thermocyclers, ABI 3730xl sequencers, centrifuges, and automated liquid handlers.

Adhering to all company safety and regulatory policies, including correct PPE use and proper handling of hazardous materials.
Preferred Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate demonstrates:

Experience with basic biology techniques and standard laboratory equipment.

Ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.

Experience in oligonucleotide manufacturing (highly desirable).

Experience with DNA sequencing using the 3730xl platform (highly desirable).

Previous work experience in an ISO-9000 or cGMP environment.

Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Excel.

Familiarity with handling hazardous chemicals.

Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and high attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with adaptability, initiative, and a positive attitude.

Minimum Qualifications for Laboratory Technician Jobs

Bachelorโs degree in biology, or a related field; or equivalent experience (two years of industry experience = one year of college).

Completion of annual RCRA awareness training.

Ability to lift 35+ pounds.

Authorization to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.
