Educational Requirements for the Laboratory Technician Role:

  • Required: High school diploma
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field
  • Additional:

    • One year of laboratory or analytical experience preferred

    • Production/manufacturing experience is a plus

    • Proficiency in laboratory analysis methods

    • Knowledge of SAP is an advantage

Key Responsibilities of the Laboratory Technician:

  • Perform microbiological, chemical, and physical testing of incoming materials, in-line samples, semi-finished, and finished products
  • Conduct environmental monitoring
  • Clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment
  • Perform internal/external analytical reporting
  • Manage laboratory supplies, inventory, and reagent stock
  • Follow Nestlé Good Laboratory Practices, Safety Standards, and Biosafety protocols
  • Review laboratory data for accuracy
  • Conduct method monitoring and trend analysis
  • Support qualification/validation/verification protocols
  • Communicate testing results to Factory Operations and internal teams
  • Train new and existing lab staff on lab procedures
  • Adhere to plant safety rules and report incidents
  • Follow environmental practices and promote sustainability
  • Recycle appropriate materials
  • Follow Nestlé Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Report quality and food safety issues immediately
  • Maintain compliance with Nestlé Quality Management Systems
  • Apply continuous improvement principles (NCE, 5S, DMAIC, TPM, etc.)
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work area

Skills Required for the Laboratory Technician Role:

  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Experience with SAP (preferred)
  • Knowledge of laboratory testing methods
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
