Overview
The WSLH is hiring a Microbiologist Supervisor to lead its Wastewater Surveillance Program, a cutting-edge initiative monitoring pathogens in environmental samples. This role is ideal for professionals experienced in molecular diagnostics, PCR, NGS, and environmental microbiology, with proven skills in team leadership and laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and mentor laboratory staff supporting wastewater pathogen surveillance

Oversee routine testing, scientific development, and quality control processes

Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and laboratory protocols
-
Develop and interpret microbiological assays for public health tracking
-
Coordinate equipment maintenance, service logistics, and resource planning
-
Support experimental design, pathogen detection workflows, and PCR assay development
-
Attend and contribute to scientific conferences and professional collaborations

Serve as point of contact for internal teams and CDC-driven initiatives
Qualifications
Required:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Environmental Sciences, or related field

Demonstrated experience mentoring or supervising lab personnel

Excellent team leadership, organizational, and communication skills

Proficiency in laboratory QA/QC procedures, biosafety, and data reporting

Technical experience in:
