Position Overview
The microbiologist performs accurate and timely testing of routine and non-routine lab samples in accordance with appropriate GMP and safety guidelines. Responsibilities include participating in laboratory investigations, providing technical support for testing activities, and maintaining inventory within the laboratory.
Responsibilities
- Accurately and safely perform microbiological and chemical testing.
- Record data in reports or ELN/LIMS following laboratory procedures.
- Identify and communicate improvement opportunities in daily work activities.
- Adhere to all Environmental, Health, and Safety standards.
- Provide technical support for investigations and equipment troubleshooting.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelorโs degree in a life or applied science (Biology or Microbiology preferred).
- At least two years of experience in a GMP microbiology laboratory.
Additional Skills/Preferences
- ย Experience with electronic laboratory management systems (E.g., LIMS, LES, ELN, MODA)
- Experience with TrackWise, MasterControl.
- Laboratory experience with various microbiological techniques and instrumentation (E.g., Aseptic Techniques, Conductivity, TOC, Sterility, Endotoxin, Bioburden, Microbial Enumeration, Microbial Identification, and Particulate Matter). ยท Experience in operational excellence, such as lean and 5S initiatives.
- Additional Information:
- 8-hour days โ Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend support of a 24/7 manufacturing operation.
- Minimal travel required.
- Ability to work in various areas within the site. Some allergens are present in the parenteral plant.
- Tasks may require repetitive motion (e.g., keyboarding).
Actual Compensation: $63,000 – $162,800 (dependent on education, experience, skills, and location)
