Description:
The Morgens Research Group in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at LSU Health Sciences Center Shreveport is seeking a postdoctoral scholar to join its new laboratory. The successful candidate will investigate the transcriptional regulation and oncogenic signaling of herpesviruses in primary effusion lymphoma.
The project involves cultured cells in a BSL2 environment and utilizes CRISPR screens, flow cytometry, genomics, and technology development. Researchers will design, perform, and document experiments and are expected to present their findings at scientific conferences and through published manuscripts.
The Principal Investigator (PI) will provide comprehensive training and support in pursuing independent postdoctoral fellowships. Compensation will adhere to NIH salary guidelines.

Qualifications:
- A doctoral degree (PhD) in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Physiology, or a related field.
- Strong research background in molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, virology, or bioinformatics.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in standard laboratory techniques and equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience with BSL2 mammalian cell culture, including lentiviral vectors.
- Strong publication record and a background in virology.
