Life Science Jobs at GSU- Key Responsibilities:

  • Protocol Management System Administration: Maintain Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) operations, process protocol applications, communicate with investigators and committee members, prepare agendas, and track approvals.
  • Biosafety Protocol Review: Assist in reviewing research proposals involving biological materials, lab operations, and facilities planning.
  • Laboratory Assessments: Conduct annual lab assessments, identify occupational exposures, and ensure biosafety compliance.
  • Biosafety Training: Develop and track biological safety training and educational programs.
  • Biomedical Waste Management: Assist with biomedical waste disposal and associated record-keeping.

Qualifications for Biosafety Specialist Job:

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biology, public health, or related field with one year of experience. Must be able to wear and use appropriate protective equipment.
  • Preferred: Ability to complete HAZWOPER (40 hours) training within six months of hire.
