Life Sciences Post-doctoral Fellowship Details

  • Duty Station: Trieste, Italy
  • Start Date: 1 October 2025
  • Duration: 12 months (extension up to 24 months possible)
  • Salary Range: โ‚ฌ28,000 โ€“ โ‚ฌ37,000/year (commensurate with experience & qualifications)

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead ambitious projects aimed at identifying novel druggable targets in respiratory diseases.
  • Conduct cell-based functional assays and contribute to high-throughput screening (HTS) applications.
  • Independently design, execute, and analyze cell-based experiments.
  • Utilize advanced software tools for automated image analysis in HTS applications.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary, international team of researchers.

Candidate Requirements

  • Essential Qualifications:
    • PhD in Molecular Biomedicine, Genetics, Biology, Pharmacology, or related life sciences field.
    • Proven expertise in in vitro cell-based functional assays.
    • Strong background in cellular and molecular biology techniques.
    • Independent experience in HTS assay development and automated image analysis.
    • Proficiency in English, excellent communication skills, teamwork ability, and strong motivation.
  • Additional Assets (preferred but not required):
    • Research experience in lung biology.
    • Hands-on work in infectious disease research within BSL-3 facilities.
    • Prior experience with laboratory automation and liquid handling systems.
