Job Description
This position is responsible for performing routine and complex microbiological testing on surfaces, air, compressed gases, steam, and purified water. The Microbiologist II is also responsible for interpreting and reporting results, monitoring and compiling data for quarterly and yearly reports, and ensuring all activities are performed in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Performing environmental monitoring of designated areas and support facilities
- Testing, interpreting, and reporting results for water, steam, air, and compressed gases
- Qualifying disinfectant studies and validating microbiology test methods
- Trending and preparing various assessments/reports
- Assuring the availability of required media and conducting microbial identifications
- Supporting validation/qualification activities and developing microbiology test methods
Eligibility Criteria

Education: Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, Life Sciences, or related discipline

Experience: 3+ years in a microbiology laboratory, preferably in the pharmaceutical, medical device, or nutraceutical sectors

Knowledge of: Environmental monitoring, microbial identification, method validation, and cGMP compliance

Preferred Systems: SAP, Oracle, EAM, TrackWise, and laboratory data systems
