Job Summary
Under the direction of Laboratory Supervisors, the Microbiologist QS5 will be responsible for conducting Microbiological testing on Finished Products, Raw Materials, and Water samples within the Apotex group of companies. Additional responsibilities include Antimicrobial Effectiveness Testing, identification of bacterial isolates, and media Growth Promotion.
Job Responsibilities
- Understanding and proficiency in Microbiological Testing of Non-Sterile Products
- Collaboration with microbiologists for troubleshooting
- Execution of protocols under senior microbiologist guidance
- Timely communication of any out of specification results to the supervisor
- Coordination of laboratory supplies and equipment
Education: Preferably B. Sc. in Microbiology or similar qualification in a related field.
Experience: 1 year of experience in a Microbiology Laboratory preferred. Prior experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Working knowledge of automated laboratory instrumentation
- Good understanding of microbiological techniques
- Proficient in computer skills; experience with LIMS advantageous
- Ability to interpret results with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational and time management skills
