Microbiology Jobs at Organogenesis-About the Role
The QC Analyst I/II – Microbiology performs routine quality control microbiology activities to support product production and release. The position requires interaction with multiple internal teams, including Production, Quality Assurance, Validation, Calibration, Materials, and Logistics, and may involve external contractors and suppliers.
Microbiology Jobs at Organogenesis- Key Responsibilities
- Perform environmental monitoring, critical utilities testing, and personnel sampling.
- Conduct microbiological testing such as plate count enumeration, endotoxin, bioburden, growth promotion, and utilities monitoring.
- Test raw materials, intermediates, and non-routine samples.
- Maintain laboratory operations, prepare/send samples for identification, and revise SOPs as needed.
- Support quality systems programs, including excursions, deviations, and CAPA.
- Collaborate cross-functionally, plan independently, and ensure deliverables are met.
Qualifications
- AS/BS degree in Microbiology or related field.
- 1+ years’ experience in a GMP or regulated environment preferred.
- Knowledge of cGMP, GLP, and compendial requirements.
- Experience with Environmental Monitoring, Bioburden, Endotoxin, and Growth Promotion preferred.
- Strong communication, documentation, and computer proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access).
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Minimum 25 hours/week gowned in ISO-classified cleanrooms (ISO 5–ISO 8, CNC).
- Frequent standing, repetitive movements (micropipetting, data entry), and occasional lifting up to 15 lbs.
- Work in BL2 laboratory with PPE, exposure to disinfectants, and human tissue products.
