The BioProduction Division supports developers and manufacturers of biological-based therapeutics and vaccines. With best-in-class products across the bioprocessing workflow, we help customers accelerate discovery and production through collaboration and innovation.
How will you make an impact?
As a Scientist I, youโll play a key role in the Quality organization at Chelmsford, MA, helping to manufacture products that meet strict quality requirements while supporting the growing needs of clients in bioproduction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support microbiology lab activities in a BSL-2 environment.
- Perform water sampling and testing for RODI performance.
- Conduct bioburden, endotoxin, sterility, and growth promotion testing.
- Develop and validate bioburden testing methods for bioproduction products.
- Perform environmental monitoring of manufacturing suites and QC lab spaces.
- Apply aseptic techniques in sample handling, testing, and disposal.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 13485 standards and in-house procedures.
- Maintain incubators, biosafety cabinets, and instrument calibration schedules.
- Ensure laboratory cleanliness and readiness for use.
- Identify and complete improvement opportunities.
Qualifications โ Education and Experience:

Bachelorโs or equivalent degree in a scientific field with 2+ years in a microbiology lab.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Skilled in aseptic techniques, microbial culture handling, and lab equipment use (microscopes, incubators, autoclaves).
- Experience with bacteria and fungi culture.
- Molecular biology experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with bioburden methods (pour plate, membrane filtration, spread plate).
- Experience with SAP, Agile, or other electronic data/document management systems is a plus.
- Flexible and adaptable in dynamic environments while maintaining quality focus.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
