Educational Requirements for the Microbiology Technician Role:

Bachelorโs degree (BS) in Biology, Microbiology, or related life sciences.
Key Responsibilities of the Microbiology Technician Role:
- Conduct microbiological testing including Environmental/Water/Bioburden monitoring, sterility testing, and microbial identification.
- Support manufacturing through environmental and personnel monitoring (surface, viable air, gowning, particle counts).
- Prepare culture media, lab supplies, and operate autoclaves.
- Execute Growth Promotion Testing and Sterility Verification.
- In this Microbiology Technician role, you have to perform aseptic testing in a Laminar Flow Hood, including water, disinfectant, and product testing.
- Read and document results from plates and liquid media.
- Perform Particulate Matter Testing on finished products.
- Conduct Biological Indicator testing for validation support.
- Load sterility isolators, execute VHP cycles, and perform sterility testing.
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with GMP and good documentation practices.
- Review microbiology data for accuracy and compliance.
- Receive and manage laboratory consumables and media.
Skills Required for the Microbiology Technician Role:
- Experience in aseptic manufacturing operations and laboratory aseptic techniques.
- Strong understanding of cGMP standards and documentation practices.
- Ability to perform metric conversions and technical calculations.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and lab-specific software systems.
