Technical Assistant Job Description
The Miltenyi Biotec Technical Assistant will be an integral part of the Eukaryotic Manufacturing team within the production department. Responsibilities include planning and overseeing production processes for protein extraction, particularly antibodies. This role involves downstream processing activities, such as chromatographic purification and analysis of proteins, as well as upstream processing tasks, including thawing cells, culturing in batch and fed-batch methods, and filtering culture supernatants. The successful candidate will assist in transitioning manufacturing processes from research to production scale, ensuring process efficiency and product quality through in-process controls, data analysis, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and oversee production processes for protein extraction.
- Conduct downstream processing activities, including chromatographic purification.
- Perform upstream processing tasks, such as cell thawing and culturing.
- Assist in transitioning manufacturing processes from research to production scale.
- Develop processes to ensure high product quality.
- Conduct in-process controls and analyze collected data.
- Document all processes and results accurately.
Technical Assistant Eligibility Criteria
- Completed training as a lab technician or technical assistant.
- Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry or Biotechnology.
- Entry or early career level; first experience is welcome.
