Educational Requirements for the Operation Associate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related technical/scientific discipline.
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience in laboratory operations or facility management within a biotech/wet-lab environment.
Key Responsibilities of an Operation Associate:
- In this Operation Associate role, you have to perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of lab instruments.
- Serve as the primary emergency contact for equipment or facility issues.
- Coordinate repairs, vendor services, calibrations, and maintain asset & compliance records.
- Act as the main point of contact with building management for facility tasks.
- For this Operation Associate job, you have to support onboarding/offboarding, including workspace setup, badges, and equipment allocation.
- Assist with ongoing administrative operations to maintain workplace efficiency.
- Collaborate with EHS consultants to maintain regulatory compliance.
- Handle hazardous and biohazard waste disposal per federal and state guidelines.
- Update safety documents, SOPs, and provide HR support for compliance matters.
- Assist lab teams with autoclaving, glass washing, buffer preparation, aliquoting, and protein handling.
- Ensure smooth procurement, shipment coordination, order tracking, and package intake.
- Provide backup for logistics during staff shortages or peak workload.
- Coordinate internal events, meetings, and recognition activities.
- Promote a collaborative and positive work culture across departments.
Skills Required for an Operation Associate:
- Strong knowledge of laboratory equipment maintenance & calibration.
- Understanding of EHS rules and biological waste management.
- Excellent documentation, organization, and multitasking abilities.
