Job Role: Quality Assurance/Food Safety Intern
Location: Green Bay, WI
About the job
Internship Dates: Full-time for approximately 12 weeks (May – August). Position may extend through the expected graduation date.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring employees and plant procedures according to the SQF code and the Active Food Security and Defense surveillance inside the facility and its operations.
- Monitoring intervention validation studies, sanitary operations, and animal welfare.
- Maintaining daily records of the integrity of finished products leaving the facility.
- Checking critical control points and ensuring their proper functioning.
- Assisting in 3rd-party audit preparations and maintaining quality assurance expectations.
- Participating in data collection and analysis related to product quality and food safety metrics.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of quality assurance protocols and food safety standards.
- Assisting in maintaining quality documentation and records.
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
- Must have completed your Sophomore year at a credited College or University.
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Have the desire and ability to work well both independently and cross-functionally.
- Are willing to engage others through strong communication and leadership skills.
- Are an inquisitive individual that has a desire to gain knowledge through experience.
- Ability to perform all duties required in both office and manufacturing environments, wearing proper PPE.
- Have reliable transportation to and from the working location.
