Quality Control Job Description:
The Quality Control Analyst role is an entry-level laboratory position designed for individuals with a science background. Analysts conduct hands-on analytical testing to support raw materials, in-process samples, finished goods, stability, and cleaning validation. This position requires technical expertise, record-keeping, and analytical skills to ensure the highest quality standards in pharmaceutical production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform reliable analytical testing following USP/NF/EP/JP/FCC guidelines or customer specifications.
- Conduct analyses such as dissolution, titration, polarimetry, loss on drying, viscosity, FTIR, HPLC, GC, and more.
- Maintain accurate written and electronic records of analyses performed.
- Interpret results, troubleshoot issues, and communicate findings effectively.
- Calibrate and maintain lab instruments and equipment.
- Perform peer reviews of analytical tests and documentation.
- Assist in writing SOPs as required.
- Follow lab safety guidelines while working with chemicals of varying potency.
- Support other duties as assigned.
Quality Control Job – Educational Qualifications:
Bachelorโs degree in Biology or Life Sciences.
Experience and Skills
- Entry-level; prior lab, quality, clinical, or pharmaceutical experience (including internships or co-ops) is preferred.
- Ability to multitask efficiently and work under pressure.
- Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety and chemical handling.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Physical ability to perform analytical testing while standing for long periods and lift objects over 50 lbs when needed.
