Biology Jobs at Abbott- Role:

As a Reagents Scientist I, you’ll be part of the Infectious Disease Division (IDD), focusing on producing antibodies for use in immunology-based chromatography and enzyme tests. You will play a key role in maintaining the Critical Reagents supply through Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring quality and consistency in every batch. This position offers hands-on laboratory work, cross-department collaboration, and opportunities to support R&D initiatives while maintaining the highest standards of GMP/GLP compliance.

Scientist Jobs- Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support Critical Reagents supply according to production schedules.
  • Assist with product and process testing projects.
  • Investigate areas for improvement and support R&D efforts.
  • Perform technical laboratory procedures with strict safety and quality adherence.
  • Create, follow, and improve SOPs and documentation systems.
  • Communicate findings clearly through accurate and timely reporting.
  • Apply broad scientific knowledge to diagnostic test troubleshooting.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in Biology, Chemistry, or Immunology (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 1 year of laboratory experience.

Preferred:

  • 2+ years of industry lab experience in reagent or diagnostic manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with national and international testing standards.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and chemical testing principles.
