Job Description

LDC seeks a motivated and independent self-starter, an R&D research assistant, to join our plant protein business unit’s R&D group. This role involves evaluating, purifying, and characterizing novel plant proteins and developing methods to enhance their functionalities within food systems. The successful candidate will collaborate with the product development team to create unique plant-based food and beverage products.

Experience

Main Accountabilities:

  • Perform basic biotechnology experiments and collect research data following GLPs and SOPs.
  • Plan, manage, and execute plant protein research from bench to pilot scale.
  • Collaborate with product development, process engineering, and analytics teams.
  • Generate innovative methods for plant protein isolation and characterization.
  • Utilize equipment to characterize plant protein sources.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental results.

Additional Information

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Knowledge of protein chemistry and extraction techniques.
  • Understanding of QA/QC, microbial safety, and sensory properties of proteins.
  • Experience in characterizing plant proteins for food and beverage systems.
  • General knowledge of the plant-based food and beverage industry.

Education: Bachelor’s in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, or related field.

Languages: Fluent in English.

Other Skills: Analytical abilities, data visualization software, Microsoft Office proficiency, excellent communication skills.
