Job Description:
As a Research Associate at Invetx, part of Dechraโs expanding biopharma division, you will play a key role in generating and analyzing scientific data to support ongoing veterinary biotherapeutic projects. You will work on protein expression, purification, and characterization of canine and feline bispecific antibodies, contributing directly to the development of next-generation veterinary biologics.
This hands-on laboratory role requires a strong technical foundation in mammalian cell culture, analytical techniques, and protein biochemistry. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicate findings, and contribute to research documentation while maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and organized laboratory environment.
- Express recombinant proteins with a focus on antibodies and bispecific antibodies.
- Purify proteins using advanced chromatography techniques and resin scouting to optimize purification efficiency.
- Utilize analytical methods including SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, ELISA, SEC, AEX, HIC, cIEF, CE-SDS, flow cytometry, cell-based assays, and SPR.
- Maintain, passage, and freeze cell lines.
- Characterize proteins for affinity and functional activity.
- Manage laboratory inventory, order consumables, and oversee equipment maintenance.
- Record experimental data promptly in electronic lab notebooks.
- Prepare and deliver scientific presentations summarizing experimental results.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to meet project timelines and deliverables.
Education Qualification:
BSย Biology Sciences or a related field.
Experience and Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant laboratory experience in mammalian cell culture, protein purification, or analytical biochemistry.
- Strong organizational and communication abilities.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in team settings.
- Motivation to meet project goals within deadlines.
- Hands-on experience with protein analytics and cell culture systems.
