Position Summary
The Will Wang Lab at Sanford Burnham Prebys is seeking a Research Associate I to support research in Spatial Omics, Aging Biology, and Neuromuscular Disorders starting in November 2025. The Wang Lab investigates key cellโcell interactions that regulate skeletal muscle innervation, focusing on immunology and aging. Using animal models and novel computational tools, the lab maps spatial and temporal processes within tissues at single-cell resolution.
As a research associate, you will join a dynamic, cross-disciplinary team and learn cutting-edge techniques such as:
- Spatial transcriptomics
- Multiplexed immunofluorescence (CODEX)
- Single-cell multiomics (RNA and ATAC-seq)
- Computational AI/ML-based biological data analysis

Key Duties and Responsibilities of Research Associate Jobs
- Support ongoing research projects in the Will Wang Lab.
- Maintain lab inventory, reagents, glassware, and equipment.
- Follow experimental protocols for molecular biology, cell culture, and in vivo studies.
- Conduct animal (mice) and tissue culture experiments.
- Perform tissue collection, histology, and fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS).
- Manage cross-lab collaborations and communicate progress updates.
- Maintain detailed experimental records and reports.
- Participate in lab meetings and project discussions.
- Training will be provided.
Education and Experience
- Bachelorโs degree in Biological Sciences or equivalent (completed by November 2025).
- Basic laboratory experience required.
- Interest in molecular biology, genomics, drug discovery, and screening approaches.
- Experience in both cell biology and computer science is desirable.
Skills and Abilities for Research Associate Jobs
