The Position
Roche Diagnostics acquired Stratos Genomics (SBX Nanopore Sequencing) in 2020 for its novel Sequencing by eXpansion (SBXโข) technology. SBXโข uses unique applications from chemistry, biochemistry, electrochemistry, and protein engineering to sequence DNA by nanopore in rapid time with high accuracy and low cost.
The SBX Sequencing team is seeking a Research Associate who will play a vital role in advancing our high-throughput, low-cost DNA sequencing approach. We are looking for individuals who are motivated, dedicated, and eager to be part of our dynamic research and development team.
The Opportunity
- Execute defined sequencing experiments to advance research and development efforts.
- Communicate effectively with team members, providing updates, analysis, and findings promptly.
- Analyze experimental data and prepare clear summaries for review with the manager.
- Support management decisions and goals in a positive, professional manner.
- Participate in lab maintenance, safety protocols, and assist in the production of sequencing kits.
Skills & Qualification:
- B.S. in Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field with 3 years of laboratory experience in research.
- Proficient in basic laboratory techniques and standard molecular biology techniques.
- Comfortable working with various operating systems and able to design experiments effectively.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to analyze and interpret experimental data.
The expected salary range for this position is $61,000-117,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and qualifications. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
