AskBio is hiring a Research Associate II, Bioanalytical for its Durham, NC facility. This on-site, full-time position involves developing, qualifying, validating, and executing assays for biodistribution, viral shedding, and functional assessments in support of pre-clinical and clinical programs. Candidates should have experience isolating and quantifying nucleic acids and proteins, and familiarity with molecular techniques such as ddPCR, RT-ddPCR, ELISA, western blots, and MSD-based platforms.
Research Jobs at AskBio- Key Responsibilities:
- Isolate and quantify nucleic acids and proteins from various tissue types and model systems.
- Participate in assay design, qualification, and validation.
- Utilize molecular techniques including gene expression analysis, primer/probe validation, ddPCR, RT-ddPCR, ELISA, western blot, and MSD.
- Co-author and review SOPs, work plans, and validation reports.
- Contribute to data review and quality control for regulatory filings.
- Perform instrument maintenance and performance verification.
- Manage samples using LIMS and maintain laboratory organization.
- Analyze data and communicate results in reports and presentations.
Research Associate Job- Qualifications:
- Masterโs degree in biology, chemistry, or related field OR bachelorโs degree with 2+ yearsโ relevant experience OR high school diploma with 6+ yearsโ experience.
- Hands-on experience isolating nucleic acids and proteins from multiple species and organ types.
- Knowledge of assay qualification/validation requirements.
- Proficiency with multiple assays (ddPCR, RT-ddPCR, ELISA, western blots, MSD).
- Excellent technical skills, attention to detail, and independent workflow management.
- Familiarity with GxP regulations and fast-paced lab environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and lab software (Softmax Pro, GraphPad Prism, SmartSheet).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in regulated lab environments and with LIMS.
- Knowledge of AAV or lentiviral-based gene therapy platforms.
