Dr. Pawlynโ€™s group focuses on identifying and validating therapeutic targets in immunomodulatory drug-resistant and high-risk myeloma. Their work contributes directly to the ICRโ€™s global reputation for pioneering novel cancer therapeutics and biomarker discovery.

Research Jobs at ICR- Role:

As a Scientific Officer in the Myeloma Biology and Therapeutics Group, youโ€™ll work under the guidance of Dr. Charlotte Pawlyn to explore mechanisms of resistance to therapies used in myeloma treatment. Youโ€™ll be directly involved in isolating myeloma cells from patient samples, conducting molecular and cell biology experiments (including flow cytometry, qPCR, Western blotting, and cell viability assays), and supporting the teamโ€™s ongoing research projects.

Research Jobs at ICR- Key Responsibilities

  • Isolate and process myeloma cells from patient samples.
  • Perform cell and molecular biology experiments, including viability assays, qPCR, Western blotting, and flow cytometry.
  • Support ongoing research projects in the Myeloma Biology and Therapeutics team.
  • Maintain accurate data and contribute to SOPs.
  • Collaborate closely with scientists across the Division of Cancer Therapeutics and the Centre for Protein Degradation.

Scientific Officer Job- Essential Qualifications & Skills:

  • A degree in Biological Sciences or related field.
  • Proven experience in cell culture and molecular biology techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and enthusiasm for interdisciplinary research.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience handling primary patient samples.
  • Interest in cancer biology, particularly mechanisms of therapeutic resistance.
