Job Overview
The Lallemand Biofuels and Distilled Spirits (LBDS) laboratory is seeking a motivated candidate to join their research team for an internship opportunity. The selected candidate will work on isolating, identifying, and characterizing microbial strains for the distilled spirits industry. Responsibilities include conducting lab activities, performing fermentations and distillations, analyzing products, utilizing microbiological techniques, and participating in sensory training.
- Technical Skills
Required:
- College or Bachelor’s degree in fields such as chemistry, food science, biochemistry, or biotechnology
- Proficient in English communication
- Strong organizational and attention to detail skills
- Proficiency in MS packages, especially Excel
- Previous experience with classical microbiological techniques and lab work
- Personal Abilities
Required:
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Willingness to learn and good communication skills
General Criteria
Required: Must be able to live and work in Canada, and available to work full-time (37.5h per week).
