Roche biotechnologist Job Description

The Career Conversion Programme (CCP) (Attach-and-Train) for Advanced Biopharmaceuticals Manufacturing Executives/Professionals is a talent development programme aimed at building the next generation of skilled manpower for Singapore’s Biopharmaceuticals manufacturing industry in anticipation of hiring demand. This programme is jointly supported by the Workforce Singapore (WSG) and Workforce Advancement Federation (WAF).

The Roche biotechnologist trainee programme consists of 15 months of local attachment with Roche.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, or equivalent qualifications such as a Diploma, NITEC, or similar.
  • Experience in biologics is a plus.
  • Must possess strong problem-solving abilities, interpersonal communication, and teamwork skills.

Roche biotechnologist – Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Biochemical Manufacturing Department by working effectively within the group to meet department goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for completing assigned tasks which may include preparing small equipment, cleaning and sterilizing vessels, preparing solutions, monitoring and operating biochemical processing equipment, raw materials sampling, dispensing, and environmental monitoring sampling while maintaining housekeeping of the areas in adherence to Safety, cGMP and Biochemical Manufacturing guidelines.
  • Prioritize assigned tasks and document work per approved manufacturing formulae.
  • Support process improvement efforts.
  • Operate computers for process control and data entry.
  • Participate in staff and shift change meetings and work closely with other shift personnel and external support groups.
  • Ensure all assigned tasks are performed as per safety requirements and report safety incidents and near misses in a timely manner.
