Scientist Jobs At AstraZeneca- Role:

As a Scientist, you will play a key role in validating new oncology targets, developing cell-based assays, and enabling the identification of novel drug candidates. Working within a dynamic and supportive lab environment, you will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across biology, chemistry, and data science to advance projects from concept to clinical development. This lab-based position is ideal for researchers who thrive on innovation, precision, and teamwork in a fast-paced scientific environment.

Biotech Jobs- Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and validate oncology targets using preclinical models such as cell lines and organoids.
  • Develop, implement, and troubleshoot cell-based assays for proliferation, survival, apoptosis, and cell cycle studies.
  • Design experiments to evaluate mechanisms of action and identify candidate biomarkers.
  • Apply molecular and cellular techniques such as western blotting, ELISA, flow cytometry, RT-PCR, and high-content imaging.
  • Analyze, interpret, and present research data to project teams and senior scientists.
  • Maintain detailed experimental records, ensuring compliance with data quality standards.
  • Contribute to AI-driven data generation and analysis for improved discovery workflows.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field with 3+ years of research experience in Biotech, or a PhD with 0 years of experience.
  • Strong technical expertise in cell culture, assay development, and molecular biology.
  • Proven ability to manage, analyze, and interpret experimental data.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of cancer cell biology, molecular genetics, and oncogenic pathways.
  • Experience in drug discovery within academia, biotech, or pharma.
  • Familiarity with high-throughput screening, assay automation, and data analysis tools.
  • Exposure to AI and data science applications in biological research.
