Role Overview
The QC Scientist 1 (Cell Culture) will perform a variety of quality control activities supporting the testing of finished products, raw materials, and serum. This Quality Control Job involves maintaining aseptic cell cultures, conducting assays, and ensuring that all laboratory procedures meet the companyโs rigorous quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct aseptic cell culture, including maintenance and routine cell passage of adherent and suspension cells.
- Perform assays related to growth promotion, cytotoxicity, cell viability, and population doubling time.
- Test raw materials and evaluate results against approved specifications.
- Perform peer reviews of analytical data and release data in a timely manner to meet scheduled release dates.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, prepare reagents, restock supplies, and ensure a clean and safe workspace.
- Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and site quality standards to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
- Work occasional weekends or holidays as required by testing or business needs.
Qualifications Required for Scientist Jobs
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelorโs Degree in Biology, or a related Life Science discipline.
- At least one year of experience in aseptic techniques.
Preferred Requirements:
- One or more years of experience in a quality control laboratory.
- Strong background in cell culture techniques and quality assurance.
- Attention to detail and familiarity with laboratory instruments.
- Knowledge of quality standards and safety procedures.
Compensation and Benefits
Pay Range: $24โ$44 per hour (based on experience, education, and skills).
