Scientist Jobs at PacBio- Role:
As a Scientist I, Biochemistry (Process Development), you’ll play a key role in developing and optimizing reagent processes that support PacBio’s industry-leading sequencing platforms. You will design experiments, analyze data, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless transition of products from R&D to manufacturing. This position is ideal for candidates with a strong background in biochemistry or molecular biology, excellent hands-on laboratory skills, and a passion for innovation in life sciences.
Molecular Biology Jobs- Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct laboratory experiments under general supervision.
- Perform reagent formulation, analytical assay development, and process optimization.
- Plan, execute, and analyze experimental results, providing data-driven recommendations.
- Support product commercialization and process transfer to manufacturing.
- Write detailed experimental protocols, reports, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Work within ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 regulated environments.
- Source and qualify external vendors, and assist in supply and manufacturing setup.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Ph.D. in a scientific discipline; or Master’s degree with 1–2 years related experience; or Bachelor’s degree with 4–6 years relevant experience.
- Expertise in biochemistry, chemistry, or molecular biology.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with assay development, reagent formulation, and data analysis (Excel, JMP).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical documentation.
- Ability to work 100% onsite in Menlo Park, CA.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available).
Preferred:
- Experience in a development or manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot experimental challenges.
- Familiarity with batch records, quality systems, and continuous improvement processes.
