The Assistant Scientist– Automation will support the Chromatographic Sciences – Automation Department, focusing on executing scientific work using automated liquid handling platforms. This hands-on role involves performing complex analyses, maintaining high-end laboratory instrumentation, and ensuring compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). You’ll contribute to the generation of accurate, high-quality data that drives global pharmaceutical development.
Thermo Fisher Career- Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct complex analytical testing and document results accurately within designated systems.
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot automated analytical equipment and liquid handling systems.
- Ensure compliance with GLP, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines.
- Review and compare data against product specifications and protocol requirements.
- Develop time management, troubleshooting, and communication skills under general supervision.
- Collaborate with automation and chromatography teams to meet operational goals.
Assistant Scientist Position- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a laboratory science discipline (Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Immunology, Molecular Biology, or related).
- 0–1 year of relevant laboratory experience (academic or industry).
- Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong understanding of analytical instrumentation operation and maintenance.
- Familiarity with regulatory guidelines, SOPs, and ICH standards.
- Excellent manual dexterity, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to multitask and work collaboratively in a fast-paced lab setting.
- Strong troubleshooting and time management abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and standard lab systems.
Work Schedule for Assistant Scientist Jobs:
- Standard (Monday–Friday)

Environmental Conditions:
- Laboratory setting with varying temperatures (hot/cold).
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs without assistance.
- Regular standing for extended periods.
