Role Overview:
As a Food Sciences placement student at RSSL, you will play a key role in analytical testing, product development, and food safety research. You’ll gain experience in both routine laboratory work and investigative projects while contributing to nutritional claim substantiation, ingredient stability testing, allergen analysis, and meat authenticity verification.
You will work with advanced lab equipment such as:

HPLC, IC, LC-MS, GC, GC-MS

HunterLab Colourimeter, UV-Vis Spectroscopy

ELISA and PCR Techniques

Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS)
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and execute scientific experiments

Carry out analytical testing for nutritional and safety validation

Produce technical reports and presentations for stakeholders

Work on food authenticity and allergen testing projects

Collaborate with cross-functional teams within RSSL

Assist in method development for new analytical techniques
Candidate Requirements:

Currently studying towards a scientific degree, such as:

Food Sciences, Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, Natural Sciences

Predicted 2:1 or higher (or equivalent)

Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills

Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn

Proficiency in MS Office
