Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience, Psychology, Pharmacology, Biology, or a related field
- Minimum 1 year of relevant research experience
Key Responsibilities of the Research Analyst Role:
- Conduct rodent behavioral assays, including elevated plus maze, forced swim test, Morris Water Maze, and touchscreen assays
- Administer drugs and collect biological samples from mice and rats
- Perform molecular assays such as immunohistochemistry (IHC) and electrochemiluminescence
- Work on chronic stress paradigms for both sexes
- Maintain lab protocols, contribute to manuscripts, manage inventory, and oversee animal husbandry
- Collaborate effectively with scientists, post-docs, research coordinators, and technicians
- Comply with regulatory and confidentiality requirements
Skills Required:
- Experience with rodent behavioral testing, vaginal lavages, and estrus cycle staging
- Wet lab techniques such as IHC and electrochemiluminescence assays
- Mouse colony management and transgenic mouse husbandry (asset)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and statistical software (STATISTICA preferred)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse, dynamic team
- Sensitivity to confidentiality and ethical standards
