Educational Requirements for the Sensory Intern Role:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelorโ€™s or Masterโ€™s degree in one of the following or related fields: Food Science, Nutrition, Biology, Microbiology, Agriculture, Dairy Science, or Engineering.
  • Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university program.

Key Responsibilities of the Sensory Intern:

  • Prepare and organize shelf-life samples for testing, including labeling, portioning, and coordination with R&D partners.
  • Use sensory software to compile reports and communicate findings to the R&D team.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sensory testing area, including washing trays and equipment.
  • Manage inventory of sensory supplies (cups, lids, crackers, utensils, etc.) and reorder as needed.
  • Follow formulas to create flavor test solutions (salt, sugar, umami, etc.) for training sessions.
  • Assist in preparing customer samples for sensory panels, reviews, and product cuttings.
  • Collaborate with R&D interns and staff to complete department tasks and projects.
