Job Details: 

Job Title: R&D Technologist

Location: Sioux City, IA (Remote & Onsite)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop new products and line extensions, taking them from concept to full commercialization.

  • Conduct pilot plant tests, document findings, and organize product evaluations.

  • Provide progress updates to stakeholders through clear reports and presentations.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, Finance, Quality, and Engineering.

  • Identify and approve ingredient and manufacturing suppliers to enhance production.

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, ensuring compliance with USDA/FDA regulations.

  • Continuously improve product development skills through training and hands-on experience.

What We’re Seeking:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field, plus 2+ years of meat processing plant manufacturing experience.

  • Strong knowledge of meat and non-meat ingredient functionality.

  • Ability to operate pilot plant equipment with minimal supervision.

  • Proficiency in online systems and product development tools.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.

  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.

  • Ability to work effectively in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

Preferred: Master’s Degree in Food Science.
