Job Description

The Research Assistant Senior position is a full-time role within the Root Laboratory at Thomas Jefferson University. This is an entry-level position focused on supporting research into the cell and structural biology of viral entry, with a particular emphasis on the HIV-1 envelope glycoprotein (Env). The role involves working with cutting-edge technologies to understand how viral proteins function, which is crucial for the development of new therapeutics and vaccines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and execution of experiments related to HIV-1 Env biology.
  • Prepare samples and operate advanced instrumentation, including cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) and mass spectrometry.
